MEET VERONICA, A TRAVEL BLOGGER & DIGITAL INFLUENCER

Have you ever dreamed of traveling the world doing what you love? Meet Veronica, a travel blogger and digital influencer. Read our interview with her as we learn about her journey and the advice she would give to those wanting to pursue their own dreams.

WHAT IS YOUR 'PROFESSION' / WHAT DO YOU DO?

I have a background in International Economy and Marketing and today I am a Travel Blogger, or a Digital Influencer in travel. My today’s job is to inspire people to leave their couches, step out of their comfort zones and go travel the world.

In my blog Sinicilliya, I write about unusual destinations, inspirations and try to show the world from a different perspective.

I closed my eyes and imagine being a part of those expeditions and adventures.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO GET INTO THIS?

I was growing up in Ukraine during the Soviet Union period and the borders were closed. Very few people could leave the country and see the world. I read a lot of adventurous books, like «Around the world in 80 Days», «The Mysterious Island» and «Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea» written by Jules Verne. I closed my eyes and imagined being a part of those expeditions and adventures. He was a true inspiration to me.

HOW DID YOU GET TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY? QUICKLY WALK US THROUGH SOME OF THE MAJOR STEPS IN YOUR JOURNEY.

I just followed my dream. I felt that if I don’t follow it, it’ll stay inside of me and rot, and eventually I would become an unhappy person. That just was not an option for me.

So I started working at the age of 14 and saved all my money to go traveling. Of course, I could only afford to go to the countries that neighbored with Ukraine. So I got addicted after my first trip abroad and continued traveling after that.

I also always had a passion for photography and loved sharing photos that I took abroad with my friends and relatives, and then with everyone else on Facebook. A lot of people told me that I inspired them and I felt like I was doing something that mattered. I gave value to others, it was so inspiring!

Then I set up my blog Siniciliya and I am very grateful to everyone who comes there for inspiration.

Social media has connected me to so many amazing people and made it possible to work from any part of the world.

HOW DID SOCIAL MEDIA PLAY INTO THIS AND HOW HAVE YOU USED IT TO YOUR ADVANTAGE?

I just did what I did, I posted photos of my travels and adventures, and soon people started following me and recognizing me online. Social media has connected me to so many amazing people and made it possible to work from any part of the world.

DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR WORKING WHILE YOU ARE TRAVELING?

At some point I realized that I only need my laptop and Internet to work and I thought … I can work from any place in the world that has the Internet. So I headed to the Philippines where I tried doing what I initially had planned to do and it worked. I connected with some brands that were interested in having unique content of their products from beautiful beaches and this is what I did for them. I searched for unusual locations, collaborated with locals and delivered amazing content that these brands used in their social media to engage with their followers and potential customers.

There are plenty of ways to work and travel at the same time and they are all about your talents.

There are plenty of ways to work and travel at the same time and they are all about your talents. If you are good at photography, writing, making videos, you can cook or teach English, then just go for it, this world is waiting for you.

WALK US THROUGH A DAY IN THE LIFE OF @SINICILIYA

Siniciliya is passionate about her work and the world :)

When I travel I try to wake up to catch the sunrise, to see the place waking up and to make some shots. Then I have breakfast, do some work, edit my photos and head to explore the city or the country side. If I find an amazing location, I will probably come back there the next day during the sunset or sunrise to have a small picnic and do some more shots.

Then I would explore more and try to sense the moment and really feel the area so that I would really remember it and of course tell my followers about it.

Think and dream big, educate yourself, dare, begin with small steps and grow them big.

IF YOU ONLY HAD ONE MINUTE TO GIVE YOUR BEST ADVICE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

I would say «Think and dream big, educate yourself, dare, begin with small steps and grow them big»

WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR @SINICILIYA? WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 5 YEARS TIME AND WHAT WILL YOU BE WORKING ON?

I have a big plan for the next 5 years. First of all, I plan to travel non-stop for a year and find a place where my husband and I would like to move to and call it a new home and maybe make our family bigger ;)

In 5 years I plan to inspire millions of people to travel the world and also establish my brand Siniciliya in the Travel niche.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD OR SHARE?

Yes, I’d like to remind each one of you that we only have this life. We cannot repeat it and later never comes. If you want something then dare to do it. You are here to follow your dreams, know your mission and live the life you always wanted to live. And one more thing … I believe in you.
